Cut out these Kiwi Christmas and holiday images, laminate them and stick little pieces of magnetic strips on the backs of them. At a group mat time or as an activity encourage the children to choose the images they would like to use and then tell a story, or make up your own! We have given you a few prompts to get you started.

The Christmas holiday period can be celebrated in many different ways depending on the culture and family traditions. This is a great interactive way for all teachers and children to become aware of these differences through encouraging each child to tell their story.

Through storytelling children learn different ways to be creative and expressive using words, actions, prints and pictures. They will begin to transfer their emotions, imagination and real life scenarios into their stories as well as developing their social and communication skills with others.
