We always LOVE hearing feedback from our customers. We work really hard to create great resources for all of the teachers and children of Aotearoa and this email gave us warm fuzzies on a Friday we thought we would share it with you all.
Kia ora Teacher Talk!
We recently purchased and downloaded your Te Tiriti o Waitangi resource and wanted to just let you know what a great resource it has been for facilitating discussions and conversations between kaiako and tamariki. We have combined it alongside our Sharon Holt book about the treaty signing and have used the resources to support a range of learning experiences including:
dramatically re-enacting the treaty signing
story telling the story behind the treaty (using your story as the basis) by providing a range of props that the children can manipulate physically themselves e.g. small ketes, figures, fish hooks, ika and other kaimoana, a map, small whares to represent the different pa and some figures to represent Captain Cook, tangata whenua and the Europeans coming from England.
the Maori doll cut outs and waka template have been very popular!
Just thought you guys might appreciating hearing back about your resources!
P.S. The Nutall quote is at the centre of our Te Tiriti documentation wall because we completely agree that to know where you are going, you need to know where you have come from, collectively, individually and as a nation.
Have a great Friday,
Canaan and the Team @ PMK.
